We had the privilege of meeting Maurice Elmore, a U.S. Navy Veteran Retired at TPG Golf Performance, to receive his first set of golf clubs and lessons with instructor Paul Powers. A Logistics Specialist E-6, Maurice was born in Shelby, NC, and served twenty years. He joined the Navy in August 1994 and attended boot camp at Great Lakes, IL.

During his military career, Maurice completed seven deployments, including the following duty stations: USS Savannah (AOR-4) Norfolk, VA, USS Merrimack (AO-179) Norfolk, VA, Fleet Activities Yokosuka Naval Base, Yokosuka, Japan, USS Blue-Ridge (LCC-19), Yokosuka, Japan, USS Lake Erie (CG-70), Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Bob Wilson Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA, and USS Ingraham (FFG-61), Naval Station Everett, Washington.

According to Maurice, “My time in service was a great experience, and I took on many leadership positions. It was one of the best career moves I made.” He retired in November 2014, and at the beginning of 2024, he took a chance in cybersecurity analysis.

We salute Maurice for his tenacious service to our nation and are grateful for his high regard for our mission.
