We were honored to meet U.S. Army Veteran Matthew Batcho at PGA Academy at World Golf Village for his first lesson with Rhonda Ferguson, Senior Certified Instructor, PGA TOUR.
Matthew told us that he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2007 after a tough childhood at nineteen years old. He spent over three years on active duty, including a one-year combat deployment that left him with career-ending injuries. He was honorably discharged the last week of December in 2010.
"I was a 13 Bravo ( Field Artillery) and proud of my time in service. I don't have much money, but I try my best to give back to the community as much as possible to this day. Again, I really do appreciate the opportunity," Matthew said.
We salute Matthew for his service to our nation. We also recognize him for supporting troubled young kids who need guidance as he once did in overcoming life's challenges. He attributes his success in life and business ventures to the structure, strong role models, and opportunities for improving oneself provided by the military.
