We were delighted to meet Justin Andrews, Senior Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy Retired, his lovely wife Natalie, and his daughters Sadie and Reese. They received their golf clubs and first lesson with golf professional and U.S. Army Veteran Chris Yeager at TPG Performance Center.

Justin joined the U.S. Navy and volunteered for submarine service as a Missile Technician in November 2004. After completing Submarine School and Missile Technician "A" and "C" school, his first sea duty assignment was with the USS Tennessee (SSBN 734) Gold Crew. He completed five strategic patrols, extended Dry Dock period, and Strategic Weapons System modernization upgrade.

Demonstrating a deep passion for his career and quickly becoming a subject matter expert led to his selection to serve as an instructor at the Trident Training Facility in Kings Bay, Georgia, where he was selected for Petty Officer First Class.

Special Operations

Justin's knowledge on the Strategic Weapons System, brought him to the USS Wyoming (SSBN 742) Gold Crew, where he completed three strategic patrols and led the Strategic Weapons System modernization upgrade. Justin was promoted to Chief Petty Officer after only nine years of service. This advancement led to his rotation to the USS Georgia (SSGN 729) Blue Crew, where he served as the Lockout Chamber/Special Operations Chief Petty Officer.

Because he completed an extended forward deployment to the Indian Ocean, the first submarine exchange of command in Souda Bay, Greece, and an extensive overhaul of the Lockout Chambers and Dry Deck Shelter, he was requested for a rare and highly coveted instructor duty opportunity with the Royal Navy.

Senior Chief Andrews' expertise and dedication to the mission earned him a selection to the Fleet Operational Standards and Training (FOST) in Faslane, Scotland, where he served as one of two U.S. Navy instructor/evaluator(s) for the Royal Navy Submarine Force and their Strategic Weapons System personnel. While in Scotland, he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Saluting Justin Andrews

Upon returning to the U.S., he was requested for instructor duty at the Trident Training Facility in Kings Bay, where he finished his naval career as the Instructor/Strategic Weapons Formal Schools Division Officer.

This position allowed him to give back to the Navy and prepare the fleet's newest sailors for their first submarine deployment. Due to unforeseen complex neurological complications, Justin was medically retired in November 2022 after eighteen years of faithful service.

We salute Justin for his service to our nation. His exceptional military career and endless desire to learn and teach made him a constant beacon of knowledge for the sailors who came after him in the Submarine Force known as "Silent Service."
