Golf Clubs and Lessons for Caleb Strassner, U.S. Navy Veteran, and His Wife Marissa.

We enjoyed meeting U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Bryan Habermehl and his children Hayden, 12, and sweet Harper, 10. They received their new golf clubs and first lesson from Rhonda Ferguson, Senior Certified Instructor, PGA TOUR at PGA Academy World Golf Village.

Born in Lexington, KY, Bryan served in the Marine Corps from 2002 to 2007, continuing a family tradition. His duty took him to Jacksonville,
NC, to the Marine Corps Air Station New River. He completed three tours in Iraq, working on helicopter squadrons (UH-1N Huey and AH-1W Cobra) with HMLA 167, providing crucial air support to ground units.

After being discharged, Bryan moved to Florida and continues to serve in civil service on NAS Jax. He volunteers at his children's school and coaches youth sports in his free time.

Bryan told us he started golfing because it gets him out and around people and has become an activity he can share with his family and coworkers. He also told us how grateful he was for getting "picked" for our golf programs, even with two kids. He highlighted his experience with Will of Iron and the closer approach as a small organization.

Saluting Bryan Habermehl

We salute Bryan for his fearless service to our nation. We are delighted to know that golf provides him and his family with a space in which they can share good times.

Bryan told us something about the golfing community that struck a chord: "It's good people. Good people play golf." We take this as the greatest compliment in the world.
