June 6, 2024We had the great pleasure of meeting U.S. Army Veteran Anthony Capozzi. He received his golf clubs and first lesson from Rhonda Ferguson at PGA Tour Academy at World Golf Village.
Tony's Service
Tony was commissioned as an Armor Officer in 2009. His first duty station was Fort Knox, KY, with the 3rd Brigade, 1st ID. He deployed with 1ID to Afghanistan and, upon his return, trained at Fort Benning (now Fort Moore), GA, where he attended the Maneuver Captains Career Course, Ranger School, and Airborne School.
He then moved to Fort Bragg in Fort Liberty, NC, where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He then deployed to Iraq and, soon after his return, moved to Fort Benning, GA, as an instructor of the Cavalry Leaders Course and Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course.
His last few assignments took him and his family out west to Fort Leavenworth, KS, and then Fort Carson, CO.
Saluting Anthony
Anthony is currently serving as a Civil Affairs Officer in the Army Reserve. He and his wife Kelly decided to settle down in the St Augustine area with their three children. We salute Anthony for his courageous thirteen years of service to our nation and continued devotion as a reserve officer.
