We had the pleasure of meeting a thirty-year U.S. Navy Veteran, Lieutenant Commander Keith Clark, Retired. He received his golf set and first lesson at TPG Golf Performance Center with Sara Mckevitt.
A native of Queens, NY, he enlisted in the Navy in 1994 as an Electricians Mate Fireman Recruit. His enlisted assignments include tours on USS Ramage (DDG 61), Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity Norfolk, USS Roosevelt (DDG 80), and Center for Naval Engineering Great Lakes, IL. While stationed at Great Lakes, he advanced to Chief Petty Officer and was selected as Engineering Limited Duty Officer.
His Officer assignments include tours as Main Propulsion Assistant in USS Mitscher (DDG 57), Repair Officer USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), Maintenance Officer Patrol Coastal Squadron ONE Bahrain, Chief Engineer in Special Boat Team TWENTY, Electrical Officer USS Kearsarge (LHD 3,) and last assignment as Deputy Department Head Southeast Regional Maintenance Center.
Keith completed deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, Anti-piracy, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the Global War on Terrorism.
Keith and his wife Melynda, also a U.S. Navy Veteran, have been married for twenty-nine years and have two daughters, Morgan and Katilyn. They live in St John's, FL.
In his words, "I am excited about finding the Will of Iron Golf Foundation as golf has always been a pastime I have wanted to learn. And I look forward to meeting other veterans out on the course!"
We salute Keith for his dedicated service to our nation. We will start courting Melynda so she can join our program and golf with him in the near future.
